Tonight is not a normal Full Moon.
On May 1st, 2026, the Full Moon rises in Scorpio — the sign of death, rebirth, hidden power, and the shadow self — on the same night as Beltane, the ancient Celtic fire festival that marks the halfway point between spring and summer.
Our ancestors lit sacred fires on Beltane to burn what no longer belonged in the new season. They walked between the flames as an act of purification — letting the old self enter, and the new self emerge on the other side.
If you have felt something stirring this week — more emotional than usual, old wounds surfacing, or an inexplicable readiness to finally let something go — that is Scorpio doing her work. She does not come gently. She comes with truth.
What the Scorpio Full Moon Is Asking of You
Scorpio rules what is hidden. Secrets. Trauma. Power. The parts of yourself you have buried because the world told you they were too much — or not enough.
A Full Moon in Scorpio pulls all of that to the surface. It is not trying to destroy you. It is trying to show you what you have been dragging through your life that no longer belongs there.
This is the question tonight is placing in your hands:
Not the worst parts of you — this is not about shame or self-punishment. This is about the version of you that once kept you safe, but now keeps you small.
The overachiever who never rests.
The one who shrinks to keep others comfortable.
The one who still believes love must be earned.
The one waiting for permission to become who they already are.
Scorpio Full Moon in Beltane fire says: burn it. Because what waits on the other side of that fire is you — the one you have been becoming.
The Scorpio Beltane Fire Rite
Perform after sundown on May 1st through the night. Peak power: midnight.
Supplies
- A candle (red, black, or white)
- Paper and pen — two sheets
- A fireproof bowl or plate
- A small bowl of water
- Your journal
- Optional: incense, dark flowers, bay leaf
Opening — Creating Sacred Space
Sit or stand barefoot if possible. Take three slow breaths — in through the nose, out through the mouth. With each exhale, imagine roots growing from your feet deep into the earth. You are held. You are here.
Light your candle. As you light it, speak aloud:
Anoint with water. Dip your fingertips in the bowl of water and touch your forehead, throat, heart, and both palms. This is your purification before entering the depth of the work.
The Shadow Scroll — Writing What Burns
Take your first sheet of paper. At the top, write: “I release the version of me that…”
Then write freely. Do not edit. Do not soften. Let Scorpio pull it out of you — the identities you have outgrown, the wounds you have been dragging, the stories that have kept you small. This is honest acknowledgment, not punishment.
Read it aloud. Hold the paper and read what you wrote out loud, even if your voice shakes. Naming what you have been carrying is an act of power.
Speak the release:
Burn the paper in your fireproof bowl. Watch it transform. Breathe. You are witnessing a death. Honor it. Do not rush.
Safety note: Keep papers small, use a fireproof bowl, and never leave fire unattended.
The Beltane Invocation — Calling In the New
Take your second sheet of paper. At the top, write: “I now call in the version of me who…”
Write everything you are becoming. Be bold. Be specific. Let it feel impossible and inevitable at the same time.
Walk through your symbolic fire. Pass your hands slowly over your candle flame — safely, without touching it. Feel the heat. The version of you that wrote the Shadow Scroll walked in. A different one walks out.
Speak the full invocation aloud:
I am reborn — not into who I was performing, but into who I have always been becoming.
What I have named tonight is already mine. I move now as the one I have claimed.”
Keep this paper. Fold it and place it somewhere sacred. Read it every morning for 30 days.
Closing & Integration
Give thanks and close:
Seal the candle — snuff it rather than blow it out. This seals the energy you have built.
Journal immediately after. Prompts to guide you:
- What came up during the burning? What surprised you?
- What did you feel when you read the invocation aloud?
- What does the version of you who has crossed the fire feel like in your body?
- What is the first small action that version of you would take tomorrow?
Print it. Light your candle. The complete 5-page ceremony with all invocations, integration prompts, and a 30-day follow-up practice.
A Note on Integration
A ritual is a doorway. What you choose to walk through it is the real work.
The Scorpio Full Moon portal stays active for approximately three days. You may feel emotional, tender, or unusually clear in the days that follow. This is normal. You have moved something real.
Honor the shift by being intentional in the 72 hours after this rite. Protect your energy. Return to stillness often. Read your invocation paper every morning.
